The pansies and violas my hubby plants in our garden every Autumn always bring me happiness as they start to unfurl and reveal their deep hues and delicate petals. Such a contrast in colour to the cooler Winter weather they thrive in.
 
Pansies have short delicate stems so I often pop them in a doubled wall glass - and they can droop pretty quickly - but I love them all the same. Their strength has been evident in blooming in the harsh, cold elements...a reminder we too can go through adversity, and still bloom in the midst of it.
