"Growing up as a kid we spent countless holidays on the South Coast of NSW. My dad had a passion for deep sea fishing and a dark blue ocean. Long before the ocean came into view he'd wind down the window of the car, breathe deeply and ask 'Can you smell it? That salt air?'. Those words still linger from every journey then and now.
 
This artwork isn't about one particular coastline though, it's about the anticipation. That first breath of salt air caught on the breeze, and the memories that return faithfully every time I think of all the beautiful places on the South Coast...and him.
 
Now in heaven, this little artwork was finished on his birthday, a quiet tribute to my dad who gave me my love of the sea. But it's for anyone who has that same connection to deep blue sea, beautiful coastlines, lush headlands...and salt air."
