We've all experienced heartbreak. How it's defined for each of us can be so different: the break down of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, the diagnosis that immediately derails all future plans; whatever it is for you it's gut wrenching, numbing...heartbreaking.
In the midst of such heartbreak it's hard to see light, let alone find hope. But it's there. In the swirl of emotions, tempest thoughts, and seemingly suffocating grief, hope shines by way of little glimmers of light.
It's intermittent at first, holding our attention for just a little while before it seems to fade again. But then it returns, and it continues this cycle until one day, the light - the hope - has grown so strong that it outweighs the darkness of heartbreak. We don't forget, but we move forward. Turning heartbreak into hope.
This expressive coastal landscape, reminiscent of all these thoughts and emotions, I hope inspires you to look for that hope each day... it's there, no matter how small it may first appear to be.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used.
