One Beautiful Thing (...Each Day)
33 x 33 x 5.5 cm
Framed in Oak
Acrylic on Stretched Canvas
Over the last little while as I've come to terms with living with chronic pain, being mum to a precious son with Autism, and triaging and managing my beautiful daughter with Complex PTSD, I've learnt to find one beautiful thing...each day. Because some days are tough. Hard. Painful. Dark. Unceasing. When it was suggested to me some time ago to find that 'one beautiful thing each day', I honestly didn't think it would help much. But you know what? It did. And now I look for it. Each day. It could be the brilliant blue sky overhead. The colourful trees on a walk. The distant horizon with a burst of the sunrise or sunset. The calming coastline and healing waters. My painting; art as therapy.
Funny enough, now, it's not just one beautiful thing I find, I often find a lot! And that's what gives me courage and strength to face each day, with hope. This colourful emotive seascape is inspired by all the beautiful things I often see and wish for. I hope it inspires you to do as it's name suggests too...find that one beautiful thing for yourself, every day.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!
