Catching My Breath
94 x 94 x 5.5 cm
Framed in Tas Oak
Acrylic on Stretched Canvas
Recent months have been a whirlwind as I've navigated my way through the unexpected loss of my dad...which sees me travelling back and forth to help manage his estate and settle his business, while trying to run my own. That's all been on top of unexpected health issues with one of my girls, my eldest leaving home for the first time (eeek!), daily challenges with my own health, and normal family life involving managing a young teenage son with Autism. I really needed some time out...to catch my breath. The coast gave me that in the form of this painting. I always say art is my therapy, and in this particular seascape it truly was.
Created on artist quality stretched poly cotton canvas, this emotive artwork came to life with the stroke of the palette knife on every exhale. It is a beautiful harmony of blues and greens and warm greys and browns. It invites you in, imploring you to look closer at the details and textures; to pause, exhale...catch your breath.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!
