A Little Piece of My Heart

Framed in Ash
Acrylic on Stretched Canvas
This is the 3rd little roadscape I've painted since my dad went to heaven. They're hard on an emotional level as I was painting a bigger one the day he unexpectedly passed away, so it took me a while to paint that first one some time later. You see, the road this is inspired by is the road I travel often between Canberra and Wagga, Wagga being where I'm from originally, and where dad still lived. These lush pastures and paddocks and scenery dotted with pretty trees, rivers and dams is around the Jugiong to Gundagai region. Each time I paint this area I feel a little piece of my heart being made whole again. A new hope and light shining through the grief and darkness of his death. Painting these roadscapes now bring comfort and healing, and encourage me to keep persevering on those days when it all feels so sad and too hard still.
I hope "A Little Piece of My Heart" inspires and encourages you too.
NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!
